Portal Updates: June 2

As the Portal commitments have slowed down a bit, there is still plenty of news to report as players find new homes. This edition spans back to May 29th and North Texas is primarily featured, officially losing a couple of good players and adding one themselves. Here is what we have:

Arizona: DT Stanley Ta’ufo’ou (11.6) < USC
The Wildcats lost most of the production on their defensive line, so adding veteran like Ta’ufo’ou is needed. We did just complete their “State of the Chart” update for 2024 and added him in there. There was a clear focus on the Portal to bulk up after so many losses. They have done a pretty darn good job filling this up with personnel.

Memphis: DL Vic Alobwede (11.6) < North Texas
The Tigers have done some work on the defensive line this off-season as Alobwede is on the move again. He joins Javon Denis (Georgia State), Devin Baldwin (Jacksonville State) and Patrick Lucas Jr. (Indiana). All will be in the rotation and we’ll be doing a deeper dive on Memphis with our State of the Chart updates in a couple of weeks.

Ole Miss: WR Jordan Smart (11.5) < North Texas
The Rebels have a full room here, but Smart is a veteran who will actually likely see the field and get some targets. They need a slot presence and he’ll provide that. We don’t anticipate a ton of volume for him as the top three need to be fed.

North Texas: DE Terrell Dawkins (11.4) < South Carolina

Kansas State: CB Jordan Dunbar (12.0) < Rice

Louisiana: DT Maxie Baudoin IV (9.5) < Tulane

Iowa: QB Jackson Stratton (9.1) < Colorado State

Colorado State: DT Poukesi Vakauta (7.6) < Utah State

Oklahoma: QB Steele Wasel (7.1) < Akron
